Panes for a modular hotel in London

Last year a new citizenM chain hotel was completed in the capital of the UK. The facility located in Shoreditch Village stands out with interesting architectural solutions as well as its structure. The hotel was built of several hundreds of ready-made modules. A total of 2,200 m² of our glazed units were used in the investment.

The British EllisMiller Architects and Studio Anyo specialising in designing of modular objects were in charge of the design. The architects made a direct reference to urban architecture, brick buildings and history. The hotel is located in an area of a former railway viaduct, and its structure and dimensions allude to it. Multiple glazing elements of the construction highlight the open nature of the building. The hotel design was awarded with the NLA Award and BREEAM Excellent Certificate, which confirms that the facility is environmentally friendly.

The new citizenM hotel has 216 rooms. The modules were prepared within 14 weeks and their mounting took only 8 weeks. Interesting enough, each room module was equipped before final assembly.

We delivered a total of 2,200 m² of glazed units for the investment. They were used for glazing of individual modules and of the ground floor. The glazed units were made of safety (tempered and laminated) glass.

The hotel was opened for the public in mid-2016.
